From the Director’s Desk
Greetings from Recovery Row in Delray Beach!

We made it through our first Hurricane of the season. Thank God we were not in the Gulf Coast, but we were where Hurricane Katrina made initial landfall in Florida. We are happy to report our Hurricane preparedness plan worked well. We do have a few minor kinks to workout. We lost power for about 5 hours; the guys took it in stride and had a spades tournament! We are happy to report we had 0 relapses during the Hurricane. This can be a tough time in a halfway house.

We are very excited about celebrating our first year in business next month. We would like to thank all the Treatment Centers that have been giving us referrals. We are very grateful. The biggest compliment one can receive in our business is that you believe in what we do and help us to continue with what we do! So many thanks to you all!

This month in the spirit of unity I decided to publish an article about “Who Says There Are No Must’s?”
Hopefully you will enjoy this article.

Since opening Recovery Row the November of last year, we have operated at 85% capacity. I believe strongly in the structure of the family unit at Recovery Row. Each addict is given a chore that must be completed three times a week as well as cleaning their own personal territory. We maintain curfew at 11:00 PM Sunday- Thursday, and at 1:00 AM on Friday & Saturday Night. I have chosen to give frequent Urine Analysis at no charge to the client. So far this has worked out great!

Thanks again. Recovery Row looks forward to helping addicts because we believe the therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel.
